Hungarian fans expect Brazil to win World Cup Print E-mail
Friday, 11 June 2010
Hungarian fans expect the Brazilian national eleven to win the World Cup, scheduled to start in the Republic of South Africa on Friday, a recent survey showed.

The global survey was conducted by The Nielsen Company, polling over 27,000 consumers in 55 countries, including Hungary.

According to the company's Hungarian affiliate, 24 percent of the global sample favoured Brazil, 15 percent Spain and 14 percent Germany.

In Hungary, 29 percent of respondents said that the selecao would triumph in the tournament. Thirteen percent expects Spain to win, 12 percent voted for Germany and 11 percent for England.

While in Europe 35 percent of respondents said they liked soccer, Hungary produced a lower proportion of 24 percent.

Sixty-nine percent of the Hungarians asked back the idea of introducing video replays for referees, falling three percentage points short of the European average.
