Sent once again to the stands by the referee at Unirea Urziceni's match against Bistrita, Dan Petrescu sadly announced that he's decided to leave Unirea this winter, according to sport.ro.
"I was eliminated again. I was never eliminated while in Champions League, but here, referees want to become famous for kicking me out. I am sorry, but they will never get to the Champions League.
"This team has no chance in the return leg, unless there will be foreign referees in all matches. If there are no foreign referees, we won't get even a place in European cups.
"I am determined to leave! The decision is 90 per cent made. For my health, it's better if I leave. The only way I can change my mind is if we get fair referees, because like this, I feel we have no chance," Dan Petrescu said after the match won against Gloria Bistrita.
In turn, Mihai Stoica launched a shocking hypothesis. The champion might step down from the championship because of poor refereeing. "Dan protested a decision made by Deaconu, who ruled at a certain point that there had been a fault on Semedo.
"He was eliminated too soon. Unfortunately, many referees choose to seek fame by sending Dan Petrescu to the stands. We will seriously consider whether we'll take part in the championship the return leg. It's not normal what goes on in League 1, we want foreign referees," MM Stoica said. Bucharest Herald
